Pinterest announced some big metrics:
- 30 billion pins
- 750 million boards
- 100,000 retailers with boards
Pinterest is #8 on TheStartup100 with a valuation of $3.8B and has raised about $600MM.
I’m going to write a piece next week on TheStartup100 businesses that are “built to last.” Pinterest will be near the top of the list.
Pinterest has plenty of job openings and was ranked #2 on our list of “Best Startups to work for in San Francisco. What are you waiting for?

Stewart Butterfield’s (Flickr co-founder) Slack announced a $43 million investment. Since launching in February the company’s messaging app has grown to 60k users (15k paid). Impressive. I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about the app on Twitter, but haven’t used it.

This blog does a good job of explaining Slack and why you should use it. You rarely see this much customer enthusiasm for such a new service. Looks like a big winner.

Spotify is approaching 10MM paid subscribers - that would be $1 billion in revenue. I've been using it for years - not hard to imagine 10x that number of subs. See San Francisco jobs here.
